Shift from an Information Deliverer to a Facilitator of LearningÂ
🚨Am I Facilitating the Learning?🚨
When considering how your facilitation has impacted your class and students . . .
Are all students progressing from receiving supports when needed and as in depth as needed?Â
Are students signing up or requesting mini-lessons to improve their understanding?
Are students seeking out other means of support rather than just the teacher?Â
Activity Lists & 9-Box GridsÂ
Creation of activity lists in the Learner-Active, Technology-Infused Classroom™ takes into consideration the types and levels of activities that students will experience in order to maximize their grasp of content. This also helps build the executive function skills necessary to take a test regardless of content.Â
If you find that your lists are not easily used for test prep, take a look at a few below and make notes of the key differences for review on our next visit.Â
The 9-Box Grid focuses on smaller, discrete skills and can be added to your already existing activity list. It can also be used in some of your stand-alone classes where you have not implemented an AL as of yet. Its purpose it to provide access to all learners by considering both learning style and readiness. Â For example: a 9-Box Grid on digging deeply into transition words, a key detail in ELA tests
   🦸‍♀️ Facilitation Superpowers 🦸‍♂️Â
How have you been utilizing your superpowers?
Remember this scenario?Â
Students are progress monitoring by setting a schedule of activities to develop their understanding of the content. When in need of assistance, they are fully capable of articulating exactly what they need help with, which allows them to seek out partnership and self-help prior to additional assistance from the educator. They sign up for or suggest small-group lessons that would help them achieve their class goals, all while retaining the information given by reflecting on how it will enhance their end product.Â
Well! This is the environment you've been working toward using your superpowers:
Questioning
 Behavior MonitoringÂ
Clearly Articulated ExpectationsÂ
Like any superhero, you need to sharpen those powers for them to be used efficiently. How would you say you did? Reflect in your Efficacy Notebook! Take a look at the links below to sharpen your superpowers:Â
